IBPS, abbreviated as Institute of Banking Personnel Selection is responsible for recruitment of employees in most of the reputed public sector banks. The institute has released the notification and advertisement and all the relevant details.

All the interested candidates have to enrol for the registration to appear for the examination of IBPS, PO.

Starting Date

The registration process shall begin from 16th August 2018 as per the official notification from IBPS.

Interested applicants will be able to register themselves latest by 5th September 2018.

Closing Date

No new registration shall be done after 5th September 2018.

All candidates must note that the REGISTRATION CAN BE DONE ONLY BETWEEN 16 August 2018 to 5 September 2018.

Every year, a large number of candidates appear for the examination.

Age Limit

All the graduates of the age 21 to 30 can apply, there is no minimum percentage required.

As the vacancies are limited, IBPS has designed a strict examination pattern which eliminates some candidates after each round.

Preliminary Exam Details

Firstly, all the candidates appear for the preliminary examination which is scheduled to held on 13,14,20 and 21 October 2018.

Before we go to next phase, let us see the pattern of examination.

The preliminary is the easiest of all levels of examination.

It has three categorized tests:

  1. English Language
  2. Reasoning Ability
  3. Quantitative Aptitude

The English Language section is of 30 marks and 30 each question which means each question of 1 Mark.

The remaining two are of 35 marks and 35 question following the former marking pattern.

The total number questions are 100.

The challenge is not the difficulty of questions but attempting all of them in the limited time.

Yes, the time is very limited to only 1 Hour.

That means, only 60 minutes are given to complete 100 questions of 3 different sections.

Candidates are selected on merit basis after passing the preliminary examination.

After preliminary, the applicants appear for mains exam.

The mains exam is of 200 marks and has vivid categories.

The time duration is only 140 minutes.

The sections of the main paper are:

  1. Hindi Language
  2. English Language
  3. General Awareness
  4. Reasoning
  5. Computer Basics
  6. Quantitative Aptitude

The first three section has 40 question each of 1 mark, that makes 120 marks.

Reasoning and Quantitative aptitude have 50 questions each, each of 1 marks,

The computer questions are 20.

So, this is the first elimination round where the difficulty is high and time is very limited.

The mains exam is scheduled to held on 18 November 2018.

After passing this both exams, a very few candidates who have done really well, are called for the final phase which is the interview.

After clearing the interview successfully, the shortlisted candidates are sent for orientation programme and further training and then promoted to a designated position in a reputed public sector bank.
